GM Audio Mixer for Windows (64-bit)
===================================
Version 1.1.0-rc.4

GM Audio Mixer plays your own music, ambience and sound
effects at the game table.

INSTALL (do this again after every update)
------------------------------------------

1. Right-click the zip > Properties > check "Unblock" > OK.

2. Right-click the zip > "Extract All...". Pick a folder you
own that is NOT synced by OneDrive and NOT under
   Program Files, for example:

      C:\Users\<you>\RPG

   You then have
   C:\Users\<you>\RPG\GM Audio Mixer\GM Audio Mixer.exe

3. Run GM Audio Mixer.exe in the GM Audio Mixer folder.
If "Windows protected your PC" appears, choose
"More info" > "Run anyway". This can come back with
   each new version.

4. If Smart App Control blocks it: unsigned apps only run
with Smart App Control switched off. Go to
Windows Security > App & browser control >
Smart App Control settings. If you switch Smart App
Control back on later, Windows blocks GM Audio Mixer
   again.

UPDATING
--------

1. In GM Audio Mixer, open Settings > General > Library
and note where your library is. Then close
   GM Audio Mixer.

2. If your library is inside the old GM Audio Mixer
folder, move it out first, next to that folder.
Deleting the old folder would delete it too. The new
version then shows "Library not found": choose
"Locate..." and pick the moved folder.

3. Delete the old GM Audio Mixer folder, for example
   C:\Users\<you>\RPG\GM Audio Mixer
A library in its own folder is not touched.

4. Install the new zip as above, into the same place.

Don't extract over the old folder: files from the old
version would stay behind, and "Skip" would keep the old
app.

Coming from Atmoscape (version 0.2.0 or earlier, the old
name of this app)? Delete its Atmoscape folder the same
way. On its first start GM Audio Mixer moves your
settings over and gives your library's atmoscape.json
and .atmoscape folder their new names. Nothing is lost.

YOUR LIBRARY
------------

Your sounds live in a folder of your own, the "library".
On the first launch GM Audio Mixer sets up a demo library
for you, with music, ambience, sound effects and a few
ready-made soundscapes:

   C:\Users\<you>\GM Audio Mixer Library

OneDrive doesn't sync that folder. Add your own sounds to
it, or switch to a folder of your own any time:
Settings > General > Library > Change.

Never put your library inside the GM Audio Mixer folder,
because updates replace that folder. A folder of your own
can sit next to it, for example:

   C:\Users\<you>\RPG\
GM Audio Mixer\ the app (updates replace it)
GM Audio Mixer Library\ your sounds

If your library is in a OneDrive (or other synced) folder,
set it to "Always keep on this device".

IF SOMETHING GOES WRONG
-----------------------

1. Press Ctrl+Shift+D, click "Copy report", and paste it
   into a message to Lennart.

2. If that doesn't help, double-click
"GM Audio Mixer Self-Test.bat" in the GM Audio Mixer
folder. It saves a results file (usually on your
Desktop; the test window shows where). Send that file
   to Lennart too.

The test takes about 2 hours; for a quicker check
choose Quick test (about 1 hour) on its first
   screen.

SHARING
-------

Share the zip, never the unzipped folder. A cloud link or
a USB stick work well. Email is usually too small for a
file of about 214 MB.
